Leading for Impact is presented by Alpine Bank and the Katz School of Business 

This series brings together respected for-profit and nonprofit leaders from our region to share real-world leadership insights, lessons learned, and perspectives on community impact. The goal is to foster meaningful dialogue, cross-sector learning, and relationship-building among business, nonprofit, and emerging leaders.

This event will feature a panel discussion and facilitated Q&A focused on purposeful leadership, followed by optional networking.

Laura Lewis Marchino has served as Executive Director of the Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado since 2016, with a career in community and economic development spanning over two decades. She holds a BA in Journalism and Mass Communications, an MBA, and is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD). She serves on multiple boards, including the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO), chairs the Colorado Association of Regional Organizations (CARO), and is involved with SCAPE. She previously served eight years on the Economic Development Council of Colorado Board, chairing it in 2021. A Leadership La Plata alum (2002–03), Laura has received numerous honors, including the 2022 EDCC Chairman’s Award. She has lived in Durango since 1990 and has two adult sons.
